About Me

My name is Heather.

Once upon a time I was a nomadic surfer girl who spent her days floating in the ocean and her nights slinging cheeseburgers and beer for a living as a waitress in a resort town, without much of a care in the world.

And then, I unexpectedly became a mom.

And soon after, I unexpectedly fell in love with running.

And though it may sound silly to some, running changed my life.  With a sudden sense of a much greater purpose, I went back to school and spent the last 4 years busting my butt to get earn a BS in exercise and sport science.  Oh, and spent some of that time growing another baby.  Now, a single mom of two boys,  I am an ACSM certified Health Fitness Specialist who has an undying passion to motivate people to become active and healthy.

I'm truly convinced exercise will save the world.

I am obsessed with collecting race medals, but only when properly earned.   I try to love triathlons but I'm not sure they love me back.  I love Richard Simmons, I hate peanut butter, and I can't stand to sit still for long periods of time.  Fitness is my passion.  Housework (laundry, dishes, you catch the drift) is my nemesis. I am sarcastic, loving, and I tend to "over share"

This is my blog. These are my never ending adventures. Join me for a few miles...
