I stumbled upon your blog and I am inspired! For me, it's the run and swim that intimidates me. The biking, no problem, hills, no problem, I live in the 2nd hilliest city in the US, but the swim, forget it, just can't get into a groove. Then, the running, well after sustaining a stress fracture last year, I haven't been able to get back into a groove with that either. I feel like I run "funny" now. I hope one of these days I can get over my fears and just go for it.

Yesterday someone looked at me like I was crazy for running after working a 12 hour shift. I wanted so badly for her to understand. Running after leaving my high-stress/anxiety job was a relief. Yes, I was tired...but I left it all when I started putting one foot in front of the other:) Hang in there.

For a second there you sounded almost as crazy as I am. And I'd like to hope that even if I had no legs to run on, I'd still find a way to get out there and cover miles at a time. Even if I have to do it on artificial limbs, wheels, or even stumps.

That is so true...thank you for the pick me up. I really still don't like running but it has helped me lose weight. I hope one day I will learn to like it. (I actually tried to stop running for awhile..but only did it for a week then I was back at it again!)

Just as an FYI a few years ago I was told I would never be able to walk normally again, let alone run. I took that as a challenge… since then I have completed six marathons, six (or so) half marathons, a hand full of sprint triathlons, a half ironman among many other races. I am not saying the medical reason for “never being able to walk normally again” has been resolved, I just learned to work around it. Now, when things are tough even if I go out for one mile at a 15 minute pace I feel a little bit better.
Just keep on running!
