Too funny your son calling you Sweetheart!! My 8yr old son told me the other day that if I was going to come have lunch with him then I needed to put my makeup on!!LOL!!
In a chaotic world running is my peace.

What a beautiful post!! I couldn't agree more. I once cut out an ad from a magazine that said "the more I run, the smaller my problems become". It's so true. Running is special time and does such good for the body but more importantly the mind. Keep at it knowing it makes you a better mom!! That's my theory anyhow!!

I loved your comment about how you remember how you struggled through the 1 mile run when you started, but now you did 9 with your friends. I too have been thinking back to those early days. About 18 months ago, I picked up my running to run my next half marathon. Those 3 miles were a struggle. But with a little discipline, and a forgiving wife, I started running marathons. This past weekend, I qualified (barely) for Boston.

I wish we could convince the "Non-believers" that running is good. That it helps you, both physically and mentally.

Heather - great post (as always) I can hardly wait until our first little one is making me laugh like that --- great stuff.

The funny thing I've come to realize is that if I spend an hour knocking out 8 miles the time I spend doing so actually makes me a "better me" for the other 15 hours +/- that I'm awake that day.

I'm a better boss, husband, son, brother, friend ---- it is well worth the "addiction" in my view - I wouldn't be the same without it.

You gotta love those preschooler mouths....my three year old who I think is pretty darn sweet 97% of the time wanted to know "what the hell happened to her kitchen" (we remolded last week) that is just awesome talk coming from this little tiny body! But kinda funny non the less!

The sweetheart thing is too cute!! I too am in love with running - it has literally changed my life and made me a better person. It couldn't be more true that running is always there for you, no matter what. I'm always in a better state of mind post-run, no matter what kind of day I'm having : ) Hats off to you for juggling every thing you do on top of tri training! Great job Heather!

Running is a good addiction:) It is really hard being a mom and going to school! I remember when I went back to school for my second degree and my kids were younger...what a challenge that was! The good thing is that you are doing it and you are doing it well!! When you are all done you will wonder, "How and the hell did I do that?" Keep up the good work Heather:) Happy running!!

Thanks for a great post! What I've found is that running takes me places, mentally and physically, that I never thought I could go. I love running and being a runner. And yes, running does help me conquer the chaos too! :)
