2012 CrossFit Games

Let's back up and talk CrossFit...again.   I know I'm new to this "sport", but the one thing I absolutely adore about CrossFit is how it is designed for anyone and everyone all at the same time.  Every single workout can be modified.  Every single workout is designed to challenge EVERY fitness level.  You push YOURSELF to be better, faster, stronger, each time.

And what's even cooler, is that the CrossFit Games...the world championships for this sport...are open to ANYONE....anywhere.  Check this out:

Real people. REAL fitness.

I've blogged about it time and time again, that since I have started doing crossfit workouts (both in the local box and on my own...awesome thing about functional training is you can do much of it almost anywhere)  I've seen massive gains in my fitness, both strength and endurance.    And I'm absolutely awe inspired by the everyday athletes who have had AMAZING transformations into stellar athletes with CrossFit.

And therefore, I'm seriously over the moon ecstatic to tell you guys that I've been invited by GNC  to attend the 2012 CrossFit games in Los Angelos CA this July with a few of my FitFluential pals!  No, not to compete obviously (maybe one day!)  but to spectate the games and share all of the epicness with all of YOU.

Over the next few weeks I will be posting more about this amazing opportunity as well as CrossFit, and how you can get started with your own basic WOD's at home or in your gym. In the meantime, here is one of my all time favorites that you can easily do in your own home or local gym.

"Cindy"
After a thorough warm up, complete as many rounds of the following as you can in 20 minutes:

5 pull-ups
10 push-ups
15 squats

Sounds easy.  Rest assured, it's not. Give it a try, then check in here or on twitter, using the hashtag #CrossFitGNC and let us know how you did!

FTC Disclosure: FitFluential compensated me for this campaign. All opinions are my own.

Rock on! I am still trying to figure out how to finance my Crossfit at a box...until then I will follow the WOD's posted! I think I'd be pretty badass as Crossfit, I mean I was in the military - push up, pull ups, sit ups, flutter kicks...all my style! As my Drill used to say, "Get ready to get smoked!"

So excited to hear about the Games in Cali... I will live vicariously thru you my friend! :)

How exciting! What a great opportunity too! I LOVE CrossFit and have been doing it for a little over 7 months now. Best decision I ever made was walking into my local box.

I am in total ENVY! I was lucky enough to see our regional games in south central and can not imagine the intense atmosphere the Games will bring in LA.
I really like "Cindy"! it is one of my favorite wods because it plays to my strengths.

I'm a huge Crossfit fan! I think it's one of the best workouts, mainly because anyone can do them!

I NEED to try CrossFit soon! I also need to work on those pullups. :/

I too cannot justify the $170 a month for crossfit training, so your suggestions on how to do it on your own are much appreciated. I'll share these with my clients.

Look forward to hearing about the games!
