It's the hap-happiest season of all

I have some shocking news to share with you. Are you sitting down? Good.

82 days left until Christmas. *gasp* Yes, I said it. It is barely October, but I saw candy canes in a store display the other day, so I figured it was fair game for me to bring up this topic.

While the holidays are about so much more than giving gifts, let's face it, who doesn't like to shower the ones we love with a present or two (or more if you have adorable little kids) during the Holidays? So over the next few months, I'm bringing you a new exciting installment of Run Faster Mommy... "The 2010 Holiday Shopping Guide for that Crazy Runner/Triathlete in your life " No really, that's what it's called, look at the top of my page, it has it's own link, haha (OK, I had to abbreviate). But seriously, over the next few months I'm going to be reviewing some awesome gifts, gear, and nutrition that any endurance athlete would be happy to find under the tree. And even a bunch of great giveaways thrown in there to boot!

So without further ado...bring on the goods!

Question! What do you do with your race bibs? Mine were, for a little bit, strung across a piece of ribbon and hung on the wall. I thought it was cute, but Rich had made a comment about how my running stuff had practically taken over our ENTIRE bedroom. The man is incredibly supportive of my running, don't get me wrong (heck our bed is directly under my medal/trophy shelf,) but he was right. So I took them down (they were hanging over his dresser, oops) and the bibs ended up in a pile, in a box.

Enter Gone for a Run's BibFolio...the perfect solution! Gone for a Run was awesome enough to send me a custom bibfolio to review, and it couldn't have come at a better time. The BibFolio is a customizable book/display for your race bibs. And, it grows with your bib collection.

There are 23 different designs, each with different color and personalization options. I, of course, chose bright pink (this picture doesn't do it justice!) and a photo of my first age group award post baby #2. It was a proud moment for me (and the baby is still bald! I love that photo!) Gone For a Run prints your photo and custom wording directly on the bibfolio, and it looks great.

Adding your bibs to the BibFolio is really easy. They sent me two sets of rings, the smaller pink ones, and the 2" silver rings. I stuck with the pink, as my bib count isn't *too* high yet . MOST of my bibs fit perfectly. A few of them were a little too big for the BibFolio...(it seems like the race medals aren't the only thing increasing in size at races these days!) but with a little manipulation I made them fit. If you don't want your larger bibs hanging out of the BibFolio like mine are, a quick trim of the sides will take care of the problem.

I had so much fun adding my bibs to the BibFolio, it was like a blast from the past of the races I have run (and I realized I was missing a few! I'll have to go digging around the house). The BibFolio is an awesome conversation piece and an excellent way to relive the memories, or brag share with your friends and family the races you have completed, all as simply as looking at a photo album. And you can also purchase the optional stand that will allow your BibFolio to be displayed like a picture frame on a shelf.

The Specs, according to Gone for a Run:

•BibFOLIO measures 8" X 8"
•Laminated 1/4" folio board
•Fits most racing bibs
•Easily add bibs by opening binder clips (fits approximately 75 bibs)
•If you have over 75 bibs you can upgrade to our 2" silver rings
•Personalize with your name or message

I stood my BibFolio on the TV in our bedroom (I know, way to infiltrate the most coveted piece of the man-cave). And to my surprise, Rich said "wow, that's cute, it looks really good". And I agreed. How about that :)

Gone For a Run offers many more products and gifts for runners, from coffee mugs, T-shirts and men's ties to jewelry, Christmas tree ornaments and water bottles. And pretty much everything in between. For a limited time they are offering a flat rate shipping fee of only $5. So start your holiday shopping early, check them out! www.goneforarun.com
