You get to run the last six miles of your next marathon with 6 different people. They can be dead or alive; famous or not famous. Who are these people and why did you pick them? Furthermore, why did you pick them for the specific mile you did? Remember, you get an extra .2 miles with runner #6.
Here goes!

mile 20-21 My sister Holly. I love running with her. We have so much fun together. We can gossip just like it was a Friday night conversation on the phone, except we are in the middle of running a marathon. Some might say that so easily and obviously passing the "talk test" means we aren't running hard enough. I say to those people, you aren't having enough fun!

I adore that man, I don't care what anyone says. We can do the twist and the pony through mile 21-22. I'd even wear sequins! With his energy this mile would go by in the blink of an eye, no doubt. Seriously though, i have utmost respect for what Richard has done and is continuing to do in the fight against childhood obesity. Read about it here, he's more than some short shorts and crazy hair!
mile22-23 Team Hoyt. Because it would be an honor to be in their presence.
mile 23-24 Will Ferrell. I think he is hysterical. And I hear he's a runner. This is the point where I hit the proverbial "wall", and I would enjoy laughing my way through it. Especially if he showed up dressed as Chazz Michael Michaels.

mile 24-25 Chrissie Wellington, two time Ironman world champion. She makes an Ironman look EASY. And what's more, she seems to ALWAYS be smiling! I mean, mile 24 of the marathon, mile 138 of the Ironman, and SMILING! That just blows my mind. I'd pick her for mile 24-25 because a) I'd hope her smile is contagious at this point, and b) if I was next to her anywhere past the first 100 yards, it would mean I'm hauling some serious ass...like a sub 3:00 marathon. I DREAM of being that fast!
mile 25-26.2 Rich. My Rich. Because nothing says love like matching blisters and space blankets! And honestly, who can cross the finish line of a marathon , and NOT think "that was the coolest thing ever, I want to do it again!" It may be the only hope I ever have into turning him into a runner, haha!
That was fun! I'd love to hear yours as well! Post as a comment, or give me a link to your blog!

This is cute. I totally laughed when I saw Chaz! I love that scene in "Old School," when he's running naked down the street by himself and yelling, "We're goin' streakin'!"
Love yours...WIll Ferell makes me think of Anchorman "I believe it is pronounced Yogging it is a soft J"
I really want to do this post but I may have to say it for another day...too tired to tackle it today. LOVE the photos..

That's awesome. I'm thinking of my list now. WHat to choose? Someone so funny you forget you're running? Or a great runner you're super inspired by? Or someone who you love love love? So many decisions. LOVE this post!

Love this post . . . and Team Hoyt is just amazing.
Fun post...we saw a father/son team, similar to Team Hoyt, at the Nations Tri last weekend, takes your breath away to see that kind of love! I am just a beginner, at 37, and love following your running tips!
Heather! You won the books! I'm so pleased because I was so moved by your story. I sincerely hope one day I can run with you and your sister - your story of sisterhood and triumph rocked my world and has stayed with me on each run I've done since.
Could you please email your postal address to me at runningbandit1203@gmail.com?
Yay for including Chrissie Wellington! If only I could run across her around mile 90 on a IM bike course... even if she did switch from Cervelo to Cannondale.
The Dark Side I sense in you. :)
