About Me

My name is Heather, and I'm one of those "crazy running moms".

Two toddlers (age 1 and 3) and their handsome daddy have stolen my heart, they are my everything.

I'm a full time college student pursuing my bachelors degree in exercise and sports science, a huge jump from the three years I spent as a marine biology major (sorry mom and dad). But I have finally found something I am passionate about, and foresee a career of helping others create healthier lifestyles for themselves and their families. And of course, spreading the "good word" of running! In the meantime, I work slinging beer and cheeseburgers at a bar in this crazy tourist town. It pays the bills and funds my racing habit.

Running keeps me sane in the chaos that is my life (but I wouldn't trade this life for the world!) . In fact, it's pretty much an obsession (most runners would agree). Somehow, I've gained quite the competitive streak within myself, and I'm now trying to "go faster". My most current goal is a Boston qualifying time...that is, if I can squeeze the training in with a jog stroller.

I love racing, and not *just* for the medals (but I do love the hardware!), and I aspire to join the ranks of the 50+ marathon club. Life is always an adventure, and I've got plenty to say about it!!

I agree - totally awesome. But what's the 50plus club? You don't look nearly that old! I suppose I should google it.

Hi! I found you on twitter and love your blog!

I'm a mommy runner, too, and agree--the only thing that keeps me sane. Good luck qualifying for Boston. You can definitely achieve it!

PS and happy taper!
